This was drawn in the Lamorna Inn, “The Wink” a frequent haunt of the local artists in the period of the Knights living in Cornwall.
The work depicts Lamorna Birch looking towards Robert Hughes.
The other three persons depicted are from the left ‘Cap’n’ Joe Ladner, (a member of the local farming family); Robert Matthews ( who kept
the village shop) and on the right ‘Old Jory’, the landlord of the Lamorna Inn.
The oil painting was exhibited London Royal Academy 1916 No. 715
