Painted in the artist’s studio on Newlyn Cliff as one of two. One kept by JGL and this one presented to Leeds Art Gallery .
JG Lyon paid 20 pounds for each picture. Literature: OPGP p. 168
In later years the painting suffered from damp and the artist scraped off the damaged work andrepainted it from both memory and assistance from a small black and white photograph without charge.
